David has been a NYMEX member since 1990 and a COMEX member since 1988. At the exchange, he steered major positions in the Security Committee, Local Advisory Committee, Electronic Trading Advisory, Corporate Governance Committee, and International Advisory Committee.
A former member of the New York Board of Trade (NYBOT) and Coffee, Sugar and Cocoa Exchange (CSCE), David was also an Executive Committee member of the Commodity Floor Brokers and Traders Association (CFBTA). In addition, he served on the Board of Directors for the Futures and Options for Kids Foundation.
As a recurring commentator for media outlets such as CNN and CNBC, David has spoken about a number of crises in the financial and energy markets. He is a frequent guest lecturer for the finance program at both Hofstra University and the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University. He also teaches a course on the transition to electronic trading at the Museum of American Finance.
David is available for corporate, media, and collegiate speaking engagements. He is currently working on a book about the futures industry.
