Mr. Greenberg is frequently interviewed about commodities trading, executive board decisions, and business projections. He is highly sought after for his ability to explain complex corporate and trading situations.
David has more than 22 years of experience in private investments, commodities trading, and global markets. He has been the President of Sterling Commodities Corp. since 1996. As President, his work shaped the firm into one of the largest local clearing houses at NYMEX.
As a member of the NYMEX Board of Directors and Executive Committee, David helped oversee a growth in valuation from $800 million to $12 billion and one of the most successful initial public offerings (IPO’s) in U.S. history. He was part of a team involved in many key exchange issues, including the introduction of electronic trading, business recovery from September 11, launch of ClearPort Clearing, and creation of the Dubai Mercantile Exchange. While he was a member of the Executive Committee, Mr. Greenberg cautioned about the possible dangers of the energy markets going electronic, including price manipulation.
